Workshop for local English teachers

On November 28th , U.S. Embassy English Language Fellow Jesse Conway led a workshop for local English teachers on ways to increase reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary through collaborative practices.  During the workshop, participants discussed why reading is often perceived as difficult and time-intensive and explored classroom-ready communicative approaches that increase students’ reading fluency levels, improve their comprehension of texts, and help build students’ vocabularies.

The Regional English Language Office partnered with the Isa Cultural Center to implement this workshop, which was attended by more than seventy teachers.
