As of March 20, the United States Embassy in Bahrain is suspending most routine immigrant and nonimmigrant visa appointments. We will resume all routine visa services as soon as possible but are unable to provide a specific date at this time. The MRV fee is valid and may be used for a visa appointment in the country where it was purchased within one year of the date of payment. If you have an urgent matter and need to travel immediately, please email ManamaConsular@state.gov to request an emergency appointment. If your passport is currently at the U.S. Embassy, please pick it up between 11:00 and 11:30 Sunday through Thursday.
Immigrant Visas:
The Embassy is now processing a limited number of priority immigrant visa cases. If your appointment was previously canceled, the Embassy will reach out to you directly to reschedule it. If your case is with the National Visa Center (NVC) and eligible for a priority appointment, NVC will email you once it’s ready to be scheduled.
Nonimmigrant Visas:
Routine nonimmigrant visa services requiring an in-person appointment remain suspended. The Embassy continues to process all cases eligible for an interview waiver. We are now processing a limited number of student visas. If you are a returning student studying virtually or in-person, or if you are a new student beginning a program with an in-person component, please email ManamaConsular@state.gov to request an appointment.
