The United States strongly condemns today’s bomb attack on a police vehicle in Sitra that killed at least two police officers and injured several others. We extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the slain officers. Our hearts go out to those who will find themselves in mourning as a result of this horrific crime. We wish a speedy recovery to those who suffered injuries.
Murderous attacks like today’s are completely unjustified. We stress the importance of restraint. It is incumbent upon all segments of Bahraini society to refrain from violence and incitement and to contribute to building trust and a reconciliatory climate.
