U.S. Embassy Marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On October 19, Deputy Chief of Mission Aimee Cutrona hosted Ms. Julie Sprakel at the U.S. Embassy for a presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness for U.S. Embassy staff.  With 16 years of healthcare experience, Ms. Sprakel is the Founder and President of Think Pink, Bahrain’s first registered breast cancer awareness charity.  Since Think Pink’s founding in 2004, it has raised over 1 million Bahraini Dinar and purchased the country’s only high definition digital MRI machine for breast cancer diagnosis.  Think Pink develops social media and educational campaigns to raise awareness and recently developed the iCheck app, to help guide individuals in accurate breast self-exams.
