Ambassador William V. Roebuck

On behalf of the United States government and the people of the United States of America, I congratulate the government and people of Bahrain as you commemorate the Kingdom’s 45th National Day.  The United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain have long enjoyed a broad-based partnership, which encompasses fields as diverse as economy and education, security and culture.  In fact, this year we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Bahrain-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, the first such agreement the United States signed with a GCC country, and the 120th anniversary of the American Mission Hospital.

We value greatly our strategic partnership with the Kingdom of Bahrain built on mutual respect and a shared vision for regional stability and security.  We appreciate His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, for supporting and advancing the Kingdom’s friendship with the United States of America.  On this important occasion, as we pause to recognize the history and achievements of the Bahraini people, we look forward to working together to assure a prosperous, secure, and peaceful future.

Congratulations and best wishes on the 45th anniversary of Bahrain’s independence.
