Teachers Find Their Singing Voices

At the final U.S. Embassy Regional English Language Office (RELO) workshop for 2016, the National Library at the ISA Cultural Center experienced the beautiful singing of 75 local teachers.  RELO Assistant, Khadija Alhayki, helped teachers find their voices so they could use them to engage young learners using songs and chants from the American English poster and CD series “Sing out loud”.  Ms. Alhayki, ran through a quick history of why music and rhyming are so important for young learners’ language acquisition, and then using the posters and CDs she had each group of teachers create their own mini-lesson using the materials.

The RELO office donated a set of materials to the first thirty participants who registered.
