On January 9, 2017, U.S. Embassy Manama held a  public session at CH9 on Amwaj Islands on how to apply for a Public Affairs grant. This session highlighted the criteria and requirements of grantees, the recommended format for a project proposal, as well as best practices. More than fifty people attended the event from various backgrounds, including technology, education, the arts, social work, entrepreneurial ,and youth engagement.
The objective of the grants program is to create linkages between academic or non-profit organizations to enhance the U.S. – Bahrain bilateral relations in areas such as education, technology, sports, and cultural exchanges. The Public Affairs Section accepts proposals on an rolling basis.  Typical awards range between USD 2,000 and USD 10,000 and are subject to funding availability.  For more information, please contact manamapao@state.gov.
