On the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, it is my pleasure to extend to all Bahrainis the warm greetings of the U.S. Embassy. We join you in celebrating the close of the holy month of Ramadan.
As His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa recently remarked, the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan gave all of us a chance to reflect on the key values of cooperation and tolerance that distinguish this holy month I was especially impressed by the recent efforts of the Bahrain Foundation for Reconciliation and Civil Discourse to bring people from across the country together in joint prayer. We applaud these and all efforts that work towards creating an atmosphere more conducive to dialogue, reconciliation and national unity.
In celebrating Eid al-Fitr together we also commemorate the strong and enduring friendship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America. We look forward to working closely with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to build upon his participation in the historic gathering of GCC leaders at Camp David and in all of his efforts to further enhance our partnership and deepen our security cooperation. We look forward to working closely with the Government of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, and to working with all Bahrainis to assure a prosperous, secure, and peaceful future for our two nations and the entire Gulf region.
On behalf of the U.S. Embassy, I wish you all a happy Eid.
