Honoring Bahraini Young Writers

On November 2nd , Ambassador Roebuck honored five Bahraini Access students who contributed stories and illustrations to the book, “Tales and Stories from the Gulf.”  These students collaborated with other young writers from U.S. Government-sponsored Access English-language programs in Kuwait and Qatar to submit and publish a collection of folktales and creative stories for young readers.  To strengthen the appeal to teachers, the U.S. Embassy in Manama sponsored an English Language Specialist, Dr. Myrtis Mixon, to create comprehension exercises and classroom activities that accompanied each story.  “Tales and Stories from the Gulf” will be distributed and used in each of the Access programs in the contributing countries.
