English Language Specialist, Dr. Thomas Robb, conducted a series of workshops that targeted English Language teachers, teacher trainees, and students. During the workshops, participants explored techniques for maximizing the use of technology in TESOL, using the Internet to supplement learning outside of the classroom, and the value of Extensive Reading to facilitate greater contact with English texts. Dr. Robb showed his audiences a website that uses quizzes to track student progress with reading, and other websites that learners can access to improve their skills in speaking, pronunciation, and other language skills. Around two hundred teachers attended the workshops at the Ministry of Education, Bahrain Teachers College, and Isa Cultural Center.
During his visit, Dr. Robb also presented to over fifty English Access Program students at the Modern Institute and Integrity Learning Center.
