Embassy Offers, “How To Do Business in the United States” Seminar

On Monday, February 12, the U.S. Embassy, in cooperation with the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham) and BIBF, held a seminar entitled “How to do Business in the United States.”  The seminar, held on the BIBF campus, included speakers from the U.S. Embassy, Washington, D.C., and across the region.  The speakers gave tips to the standing room-only crowd of Bahraini business people on how to take advantage of the Bahrain-U.S. Free Trade Agreement by expanding their businesses into the lucrative American market.  Mary McGinnis of AmCham moderated the event.

The speakers included Aimee Cutrona, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Manama, who opened the event; Gary Schumann, Commercial Officer at U.S. Embassy Manama; Jeffery Austin, Consular Chief, U.S. Embassy Manama; Allan Hallman, Agricultural Attaché, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Jennifer Miel, Executive Director, U.S.-Bahrain Business Council – U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Washington D.C.; and Gary Rand, Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Consulate General in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.  The final speaker, Mr. Hamid Alzayani, Managing Director of Midal Cable, was able to give a Bahraini perspective on doing business in the United States.
