In collaboration with the U.S. Embassy, Malja Art Space hosted a workshop featuring the American band, the Gina Chavez Trio, entitled, “Writing the Universal Language of Music.” The workshop was an introduction into the art of songwriting in two sections:  rhythm/movement and melody/rhyme.  Members of Malja youth group and young musicians attended the workshop and interacted with the three musicians:  Gina Chavez on guitar, Michael Romero on trumpet, and Samuel Foster on drums.

The latest release by Gina Chavez, ”Up.Rooted,” recently topped the iTunes and Amazon Latin charts in the United States.
