American Businesswoman Mona Aboelnaga Kanaan visited Bahrain as part of Manama Entrepreneurship Week 2017, held under the patronage of H.E. Sh. Hisham Bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa. Manama Week aims to promote sustainable development and social entrepreneurship and to foster an environment highly conductive to entrepreneurship and innovation, in order to achieve continual development, sustainability and economic prosperity. Mona Aboelnaga Kanaan has been a successful serial entrepreneur and investor for over 25 years. She has a proven track record of building successful businesses by decisively defining and executing long-term strategic plans, recruiting and motivating winning teams, establishing focused goals, and sourcing, negotiating and managing transformative transactions. On October 28, Ms. Aboelnaga Kanaan shared her experience with building businesses at the opening conference. On October 29, Ms. Aboelnaga Kanaan shared her advice on starting a business with students at the University of Bahrain, as part of the university’s 2nd ICT Conference, held under the patronage of University President H. E. Dr. Riyadh Hamza. During her stay in Bahrain, Ms. Aboelnaga Kanaan met with leading representatives of government and business, and start-ups.
Ms. Aboelnaga Kanaan serves as Managing Partner of K6 Investments, a private investment firm she founded to invest in a wide array of industries including: financial services, technology and entertainment. K6 also advises institutional and strategic investors as they expand globally into these industries. She also serves on the boards of Siguler Guff Small Business Credit Opportunities Fund, Inc., the Arab Fashion Council in Dubai and ABANA as its Chairperson. Ms. Aboelnaga Kanaan is also Trustee of The Chapin School and International House in Manhattan and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Couture Council at the Fashion Institute of Technology, and Golden Seeds.
