Author Siobhan Fallon, award-winning American novelist, visited Bahrain and was welcomed by local writing and reading enthusiasts with whom she shared her personal journey on the road to becoming a published author. She met with the Bahrain Writers Circle, the American Women’s Association, the American Cultural and Education Center, as well as students at Al Raja School and the Bahrain School. Additionally, Ms. Fallon participated in a discussion moderated by local Bahraini author, Noor Al Noaimi, at the American Art Space.
Ms. Fallon has written two novels, including “The Confusion of Languages,” a story of the unpredictable path of friendship, set within the U.S. expat community in Amman, Jordan, and “You Know When the Men Are Gone,” a compilation of short stories about the families of military men. “You know when the Men Are Gone” is a winner of the 2012 PEN Center USA Literary Award in Fiction.
