Ambassador Roebuck Celebrates Opening of WVU’s Civil Engineering Program in Bahrain

Ambassador Roebuck Addresses RUW-WVU Civil Engineering Inauguration Ceremony

On October 18,  Ambassador Roebuck joined Royal University for Women (RUW) Board of Trustees Chairman Mr. Fahad Al Zamil, RUW University President Prof. Mazin Jumaah, West Virginia University (WVU) President Dr. Gordon Gee, and Assistant Secretary General of Evaluation & Accreditation from the Higher Education Council Dr. Mona Mohammed Al Balooshi to celebrate the establishment of WVU’s Civil Engineering Program in Bahrain.  This is the first time in WVU’s 150-year history that it will offer a degree program overseas.  Male and female students will be enrolled as WVU students and eligible to earn a WVU Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. WVU-affiliated faculty will teach the courses and labs at RUW. In his remarks, the Ambassador stressed how important university partnerships like the partnership between RUW and WVU are in bringing Bahrain and the United States together.
