
“On December 10, Ambassador Roebuck hosted a coffee at his residence for the recipients of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) 2015 scholarships studying in the United States of America. Ambassador Roebuck welcomed the scholars and their parents, praising their academic excellence and wished them continued success. He also praised HRH Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for his vision to establish this program to provide outstanding Bahraini students the opportunity to study at top international universities and gain international cultural exposure. Noting the importance of promoting mutual understanding through education, Ambassador Roebuck highlighted the Program’s important role in strengthening educational and cultural relations between Bahrain and the United States. CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling thanked the U.S. Embassy for its ongoing support and cooperation, praising Bahrain’s solid ties with United States, especially in the field of education.
The 2015 group of scholarship recipients includes seven students studying in the United States. They are Abdulla Ebrahim Hussain, Yusuf Adel Ali, Ebtihal Ali Essa, Bayan Alsairafi, and Zahra Ali Marhoon who are completing their American High School Diploma before applying for university; and Bassam Alalawi who is enrolled at Princeton University; and Yusuf Jailani who is enrolled at Harvard University.”
